    Sh. Sanjay Srivastava, an eminent engineer from Central Electricity Authority (CEA), has joined as Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board on 11th November, 2020.

    Shri Sanjay Srivastava is an Engineering Services officer of UPSC 1987 exam and allocated Central Power Engineering Services cadre, joined Hydro wing of Central Electricity Authority as Asst. Director (Group A).  He has almost 32 years of service thereon covering various aspects of Hydro & EHV transmission sectors like design & engg., technical spec.& bidding, Renovation & Moderanisation of old HEPs, site issues during construction/O&M, contractual issues, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), technology upgradation, policy Issues, failure/disaster investigations, TBCB, formulation of Regulations & Codes, R&D activities, Make-in India, standardization aspects, VIP & Parliamentary matters, interaction with State utilities, etc. He did his engineering from YMCA Institute of Engg. (now J.C.Bose University) Faridabad, AMIE(Elect.), M.E(Elect.) from Delhi College of Engg. (Now DTU), recipient of offer for 18 month post-masters study at Kobe University under Japanese Govt MONBUSHO Scholarship.

    From Astt. Director to Chief Engineer (in scale 15), empaneled for Joint Secretary GoI, he was involved with many mega Hydro Projects of India & Bhutan i.e. Nathpa-Jhakri (1500MW), Tehri HEP (1000MW), Tehri PSP(1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW), Rampur HEP (412MW), Tala HEP (1020MW), Punatsangchhu-I&II (1200MW&1020MW) Bhutan, Lakhwar MPP (300MW) UK, New Umtru(40MW) & Ganol (22.5MW) Meghalaya, 420kV GIS sub-station at Jigmeling, Bhutan. He was deputed to Tala HEP (1020MW), Bhutan for 3 years where he was involved in project construction activities. Experience of dealing with World Bank funded projects & international experts/consultants, handled World Bank transfer of technology project (hydro), preparation / vetting of DPRs, assessment of small HEPs potential. coordination of R&D activities in hydro & transmission, CEA Regulations on Construction of Electric Plants & Lines, Regulations on Safety of Plants & Lines, technical audit of EHV towers, Bilateral cooperation with foreign countries.

    He worked for several committees, some prominent ones are Chairman of committee to study NHPC proposal of Barrage in place of Dam for Punatsangchhu-I HEP, Chairman of Standing Committee of Experts to Investigate failures of S/S equipment (2017-19), Chairman of Standing Committee of Experts to Investigate failures of EHV TL towers (2017-19), Chairman of committee to prepare guidelines for HTLS conductors, Member of committee on Cyber Security Issues, Member-Secretary of committee to analyse frequent tower failures in Agra region, Member-secretary of committee to frame guidelines for Loading Criteria for Hydro Generating Units, Member of Panel of Experts to resolve problem of air gushing in Nathpa-Jhakri HEP, Member of Committee set up by Himachal Govt. on IC issue of Karcham-Wangtoo HEP (1000MW), Member of Committee to resolve site related Geo-technical problems & 400/132kV interconnecting facility at Mangdechhu HEP (720MW), Member of R&D Advisory Committee of NEEPCO (2015-16), Member of task force for NPP/ RSOP/ IHRD schemes of CPRI, Co-Chairman of WRD-15 Panel & Member of  several BIS sectional committees.

    He had undergone 2 months training at Hydro-Quebec, Montreal, testing of 400kV RIP bushings in Switzerland, SC testing of GTat KEMA, Holland, 400kV cable testing in France, Turbine shafts Inspection in China, several visits to project sites during construction/O&M.Also, 2 week Communication Skill training at MDI, Gurgaon, 2 week Leadership training at IIPA, 2 week Executive skill training at ESCI, Hyderabad, 2 week Financial Management training at NIFM, Faridabad, 2 Week training on Oracle software at STG, Delhi and 2 week training on Unix & Silicon Graphic Workstation at Tata Elxsi,6 months induction training in Hydro/Thermal/ power system at NPTI, Simulator training on power system at PSTI, Bangalore & on 210MW thermal unit at NPTI, Badarpur. Inspections in almost all major hydro plant equipment at the manufacturing works of ABB, BHEL, C&S, GE, L&T, Schneider, Siemens, etc.

    He made contributions in publication of several guidelines, manuals and conference papers.  Delivered lectures & talks in National Water Academy(NWA) Pune, NPTI, Cigre CBIP, etc, Chaired several conference sessions, organized National Workshop on RMU&LE of Old HEPs, National Workshop on Challenges in Geological & Geotechnical Investigations in Himalayan Region, National Workshop on 3 NPP R&D projects.

    Er. Harminder Singh Chugh joined as Chief Engineer/System Operation, BBMB, Chandigarh on 05-07-2018 from PSPCL, Patiala. Born on 05-10-1962. Passed B.Sc. Engg.(Mechanical) from RECK (Presently known as NIT Kurukshetra) in the year 1984 and did post graduate diploma in Marketing Management from "IGNOU" University. Joined PSEB (now PSPCL) in the year 1985.

    Having more than 33 years of service experience in PSPCL in various capacities from 22.05.1985 comprising all aspects of Generation, Distribution & Transmission organization. Out of 33 years of service in PSPCL & in BBMB till date, about 25 years of experience is in Generation organization. Detail of experience in brief is as below:-
    1) Served in Transmission Organization in PSPCL for about 3 years (1985 to 1988) as Assistant Engineer. Looked after planning, monitoring & allocation of funds for Transmission & Sub Station works.

    2) Served in Distribution organization of PSPCL for about 5 years as Assistant Engineer.

    3) Served in Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant (GGSSTP), Ropar for about 20 years w.e.f. 1993 to 2012 in various capacities as AEE, Sr. XEN & Superintending Engineer and dealt with Operation of GGSSTP Units, Operation & Mtc. of PLC & pneumatic system of Dry Fly Ash Handling System, Operation & Mtc. of FSSS system, Measurement system & lnterlock system of 210 MW units of GGSSTP.

    4) Served as S.E./Tech. to Director/Generation, PSPCL for about  1½ years and worked in close coordination with all the Chief Engineers under Director/Generation and helped in decision making process.

    5) Served as Dy. CE/Fuel, PSPCL, Patiala for about 3 years and dealt with all the issues relating to arrangement of coal for PSPCL Thermal Power Stations. Responsible for getting requisite clearances/licences for operation of Pachwara Central Coal Mine. Responsible for preparation & publication of Bid documents for selection of MDO for operation of Pachwara Central Coal mine.

    6) Served as Chief Engineer/OSD to CMD, PSPCL from 03.05.2018 to 03.07.2018. Assisted CMD, PSPCL on Establishment & Technical issues. Serving as CE/S.O. in BBMB,Chandigarh w.e.f. 05-07-1 8.

    ACHIEVEMENTS 
    1. Commissioning of PLC & Pneumatic System of Dry Fly Ash Handling System of GGSSTP and SCADA based lnterlock System of ABB Make of Stage-l of GGSSTP.

    2. Had visited KWS Power Tech Training Centre Germany during March,2006 for attending advance training programme for Executive Engineer (Maintenance).

Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman/BBMB also assumed the current charge of the post of Member/Irrigation, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMBon 05th January, 2021.

    Shri Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran , Joint Secretary (Ministry of Power), is a 2004, Madhya Pradesh Cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service. He hails from Kerala and speaks Malayalam, Hindi and English. He has done his B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (formerly Regional Engineering College, Calicut).
    As a member of the Indian Administrative Service, he has experience in areas of Cabinet Affairs, Personnel and General Administration, Social Justice and Empowerment, Employment and Labor issues, Panchayati Raj and Local Self Government. Since December, 2017 he is on deputation to the Government of India.
    He has served on many important administrative positions in Govt. of India and State Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, like Director – PMO; PS to Minister-M/o Steel; Deputy Director, LBSNAA, Mussoorie, etc.
